The Peralta Canyon Trail - In Quest of Weaver's Needle

The climax of this trail, if that would be the appropriate term, is getting to see the iconic Weaver’s Needle. What’s a little odd is that you don’t actually see it until you’re less than 100 feet from where most people turn around. I arrived, quite warm, and took it in. Besides that landmark, just the overlooking view is quite impressive. I’m not a weaver, but it didn’t look to me like any needle I had ever seen. If anything, as someone on FB pointed, it looks more like a shark fin.

The trail keeps going, but with my water supply dwindling, I opted to go back, I may explore the rest of the trail during a cooler time of the year. I did take a few pictures of some boulders that seemed to be balancing precariously and the somewhat amusing signs at the bottom.
