As it got closer to "the chute", it started getting steeper. There was a lot of loose rocks and gravel, but not much to grab onto for handholds, which would come into play more so on the way down. The chute itself was quite steep, and not so much poorly marked, as I’m pretty sure incorrectly marked. There were a few blue arrows pointing to near impossible to climb rock faces. I kept going up so far, realizing I couldn’t go any further, than turning around, going back, and trying another route.

Finally, as I was wandering what seemed like way off base, I saw people walking on a trail even further from the bogus blue arrows. They were experienced on this trail and told me that they were on the correct one. Luckily I was able to trail blaze over to the correct trail. Then I was still climbing steeply on trails that were a bit hard to follow, but at least not scaling cliffs and climbing boulders. I finally got to the plateau, not too far from the peak.
