Jumping around a bit chronologically, these are more photos of my "trip to the pinkie". The boulder just out of the shadows in the last photo is the top of the Treasure Loop Trail. So yes, the unoffical trail was quite steep. I saw some rock climbers climbing the left ring finger, which of course reminded me of Gulliver's Travels.
