Once the trail got on the other side of the mountain, the natural shade dissipated, and quite frankly, it was quite hot anyway. These shots are looking south and a bit west. With darkness approaching, common sense towards my poor night vision lead to my decision to turn back at the saddle. I will need to complete this trail on another day.
